DOGS KNOW IF YOU HAVE CANCER...JUST BY SNIFFING.

It is now officially known for a fact that dogs can reliably smell and detect the early stage of lung cancer present in patients lungs, just by sniffing.

This is a huge leap forward in progress for researchers at Schillerhoehe Hospital in Germany who have been investigating if there where specific volatile organic compounds (VOC's) that are linked to the presence of cancer.
VOCs are emitted from the surface of cells as they undergo tumor-induced gene and protein changes. Detecting Volatile Organic Compounds that some cells create can help detect the early stage of a cell dis function leading towards an early diagnosis as by a scan you may not detect anything.

Dogs have proven this for a fact, there are.

This study proves that once again man's best friend is able to help save lives, in this case by sniffing out cancer.

What's amazing is even
in the presence of other factors, like tobacco smoke and COPD dogs where able to detect this disease and unfortunately current lab tests aren't able to do this.

Heartworms: Clinical Signs

A dog that's infected by D. immitis may normally cough or wheeze , and may seem tired and not interested in playing , though these signs of heart-worm disease can easily be mistaken for something else and by not giving it any relevance it may be completely missed all together.
The only way to find out if your dog is in fact infected would be to have a veterinarian administer a heart-worm test.

War Dog helped get Bin Laden

According to a New York Times article a Seal's team that got Osama Bin Laden took a War Dog to help them on this mission, possibly a German Shepherd or a Belgium Malinois not a ordinary dog though, these War Dogs are highly trained K-9's.
Basically War Dogs are dogs that help the soldiers fight a war. In the United States there are around 2.700 war dogs on active duty, and are the key for success in winning battles. The War Dog that was involved in the raid on Osama bin Laden is still kept as a secret and at this this point, "remains an enigma".
"Because of their intelligence, their willingness to work, the alertness, their speed, it's exactly why they're a perfect fit for the military," said Graham Bloem.
Bloem is a professional dog trainer that works with military dogs and trains police dogs. He is not surprised a military dog was used during the Bin Laden raid.
These dogs are also equipped with the latest technology, Navy Seals see everything the dog sees on a 3-inch monitor due to the infrared cameras the dogs are equipped with.

It was first reported by The New York Times that a special K-9 choppered in with the 79 elements of the elite US forces for the secret mission in Abbottabad, 30 miles (arround  50 km) from Islamabad, where Osama Bin Laden was finally sniffed out after a decade-long manhunt.
US military officials said they could not discuss anything related to tactics, procedures or protocol, including the deployment of canines.

DO NOT call and say you are adopting unless you are going to go down there and get the dog. It is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone, for someone to purposely not show up? They need every free second of their time to process Lost and Found checks and care for the animals. Not to mention people will think the dogs is safe and then they die. Chinese activists rescue dogs destined for dinner table

In Beijing a man spotted a big lorry full of dogs on a highway outside Beijing.

This man, Mr. An, saved the lives of 580 innocent dogs, that where on the way to be slaughtered and eventually to be served on a plate for dinner.

Mr. An after spotting these dogs intercepted the big lorry by swerving his car in front of it and forcing it to slow down and stop.

After forcing the lorry to stop he contacted a friend of his and explained the situation in wich his friend published a plea on Sina Weibo, a Twitter-like social media platform popular in China, and soon more than 100 animal rights activists had gathered with water, medicine and food for the dogs, who the truck driver later admitted were headed for restaurants in Changchun.
Most of the dogs are now at the China Small Animal Protection Association
